How it works

Computers are left with us. We do not repair them over the counter — a proper diagnosis takes time, and most parts have to be ordered in. You drop the machine off at Berwick and collect it at Berwick when it is done.

  1. Bring it in. Walk-ins welcome, Monday to Saturday, 10am–5pm. No appointment needed.
  2. We assess it properly. The machine goes to our workshop and gets a real diagnosis, not a guess at the counter.
  3. You get a quote. Price and timeframe, before any work begins — and if the repair costs more than the machine is worth, we will say so plainly.
  4. You approve it. No repair work starts until you say go, and beyond the assessment fee below nothing else is charged.
  5. We call you when it is ready. Collect it here at Eden Rise Village.

What the assessment costs

Phones — no fix, no fee

If we cannot repair your phone, you pay nothing. Phone faults are usually liquid damage or a failed power component, and we can tell quickly whether it is worth doing.

Computers — $30 assessment

Fully credited towards the repair if you go ahead. You only ever actually pay it if you decide not to proceed.

Why computers are different: a laptop that will not start has to be pulled apart and tested properly, and that is real bench time whatever the outcome. Sometimes the answer is that the CPU has failed and the repair costs more than a good second-hand machine — in which case we will tell you that, and the $30 covers the work that found it out. You get a straight answer either way, and you are never talked into a repair that does not make sense.

How long it takes

  • Software, setup, virus removalOften the quickest jobs — usually back within a day or two.
  • Laptop screen replacementAround 2–3 days. The panel is ordered in for your exact model.
  • Board-level repairAllow about a week. Components are model-specific and have to be sourced.

These are the honest ranges, not a sales promise. We confirm the timeframe when you drop the machine off, once we know what it actually needs.

Board-level repair for computers

Not every fault is a part swap. If the motherboard itself has failed — a power circuit, a charging IC, liquid corrosion — most shops will tell you to buy a new machine. We work on the board itself under a microscope. See board-level repair for what that involves and how long it takes.

Before you bring a computer in

Please back up anything important if the machine still starts. We take care with your data, but no repair is risk-free, and a backup costs nothing. If you are not sure how, ask us — we can help with that too.
